With all of the craziness of getting the shop ready, there hasn’t been much time to do things around the house. We were able to swap out our 7 year old light fixture for a new globe pendant light. While I loved that old fixture, especially since I DIY’d it, but I wanted something a little bit more clean and modern.

I found this light on Wayfair, and not only loved how it looked, but that is wasn’t crazy expensive.
It has a really nice glow with the vintage style bulb.
It gets this cool double reflection of the bulb too.
The one thing I like about the globe pendant light is that the glass looks modern, but also kind of makes it disappear. Even thought the glass globe is larger, it is also much sleeker than our old light, and I really love the contrast of the black cord and soft brass hardware.
Here’s a peek at our kitchen window area last fall. This is also before we had our subway tile installed. That was one of the best things we ever did. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love looking at it every day. It’s so easy to clean too. Now it makes me wonder why we waited so long to do it.
Really, looking at it now, the old light was way too small. It actually looks pretty dinky.
Even though we used the same bulb as from the other light fixture, it’s amazing how much more light this fixture gives off with a bigger reflective surface.
I just love how this simple change, updates the entire look.
Just FYI, the grand opening of the shop is coming up in September! I’ll would love for you to come. You can also register for classes here.
